SPANISH LAKES – GOLF VILLAGE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, INC.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
May 14, 2026
- The meeting was called to order at 9:03am. Present – Bill Neal, Susan George, Sandi Pierce and Doreen van Buren present. Chuck Koons absent. No non-Board members attended.
- Approval of Minutes – Sandi moved to waive reading of the 4/9/26 minutes as all officers have reviewed them. Susan seconded, and motion passed.
- Retaliation – Sandi volunteered to speak with Patti again about the newsletter issue and use of the lower cabinet in the B room. Bill suggested that she contact Eric and Alex abouit the newsletter and speak with Patti about the cabinet.
- Past Events
- The April Dinner was excellent
- The Pool Party was also excellent
- Upcoming Events
- Show Me the Money will not be held in August. Sandi will need help with the July one
- Memorial Day – Susan will ask Chuck to coordinate the program at the flag pole
- July 4th – Rolling Thunder will take care of a program. Frank is coordinating it with Jaime (Community Patrol). Neither Bill nor Sandi will be here. The Rec Dept will be serving burgers etc.
- Our next membership and board meetings will be in September
- Old Business
- Per a resident, his house was inspected very early in the morning, and he noted that inspector George is now wearing a badge and body cam.
- Bill stated that inspections should not be done prior to 9am. Courts have generally found 9-5 to be a “reasonable” timeframe for disruptions like the inspection
- There continue to be unreasonable demands about mailboxes
- Car wash coupons – discussed possible ways to get them sold
- New Business
- The IRS penalty has been removed
- Form 990-PF still needs to be done per Bill. We apparently can’t use the shor form. Susan will try to follow up as Chuck is away and we’re almost out ot time.
- Rolling Thunder fund sharing discussed.
- There was a big issue with not receiving HOA mail sent to the clubhouse. Bill received main 2 months after delivery. We will need to ask at the desk regularly.
Adjournment – Sandi moved to adjourn the public meeting. Doreen seconded. All were in favor and motion passed. Open session of BOD meeting was adjourned at 9:25am
